Overview

PM Vishwakarma is a Central Government scheme for traditional workers who use their hands and tools. It helps them improve their skills, get training, receive a toolkit and get loans to grow their work.

The scheme covers 18 traditional trades, that includes carpenters, blacksmiths, goldsmiths, potters, tailors and cobblers. Eligible applicants can also get a PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card after completing the required registration process.

How to Apply for PM Vishwakarma Scheme

To register for PM Vishwakarma scheme, visit CSC center will all required documents. Take your Aadhaar card, mobile number, bank account details and ration card with you. If you do not have a ration card, have to provide Aadhaar details of your family members.

Steps to Register

  1. Visit your nearest CSC with the required documents.
  2. The CSC operator will start your registration on the PM Vishwakarma portal.
  3. Verify your mobile number and complete the Aadhaar fingerprint verification.
  4. Provide your personal, family, trade and bank account details.
  5. Tell the operator if you want to apply for a loan or marketing support.
  6. Submit the application and keep note your application number.
  7. Your application will then go through the required verification process.

The application is checked at different levels, including the local body, District Committee and Screening Committee. After all required checks are completed and your application is approved, you become a registered PM Vishwakarma beneficiary.

  • Only one person from a family can register. For this scheme, a family means the husband, wife and unmarried children.
  • Not for government employees.

The scheme covers these trades:

Carpenter, boat maker, armourer, blacksmith (lohar), metalsmith, hammer and tool kit maker, locksmith, goldsmith, potter, sculptor and stone breaker, cobbler or footwear artisan, mason, basket/mat/broom maker and coir weaver, doll and toy maker, barber, garland maker, washerman, tailor, and fishing net maker.

You do not apply for the certificate separately. It will issue after your application got approved.

  3. Enter the mobile number you gave at the CSC, then the OTP that arrives on it.
  4. Open your dashboard and download the certificate and the ID card.

PM Vishwakarma Loan: Amount, Interest and How to Get It

Under this scheme you will get to two loans, one after the other. Both have no collateral and a fixed 5% interest rate. The government pays the extra 8% interest for you.

Approved PM Vishwakarma registration does not guarantee a loan. Banks make the final decision. By 15 September 2026, about 6.19 lakh loans, worth around ₹5,316 crore, had been approved, against 30 lakh registrations. Banks may ask for your Aadhaar, mobile number, proof of your trade, and your PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card. The list differs from bank to bank, so check with your branch before you go.
