Center government has launched Sarathi Parivahan Sewa portal to apply for a driving license online. The government has made the application process completely online. Now a person will not have to visit the RTO office repeatedly.
The government has worked towards bringing the same license across the country so that all states have the same driving license.

Eligibility for Driving Licence
- The candidate must be a permanent resident of India
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Must know the driving terms and conditions
- Applicant must be mentally fit

- Address proof (Voter ID card, Ration card, Aadhaar card, Electricity bill, Water bill, PAN card)
- Age proof (10th-grade marksheet, voter ID card, Birth certificate)
- Mobile number
- Passport size photographs
Steps to Apply for Learning License on Sarathi Parivahan
Step 1: Open sarathi parivahan sewa portal through this direct link https://sarathi.parivahan.gov.in. Or search in the web browser with the text ‘sarathi parivahan’.
Now choose your state name from drop down list, for you applying online.
Step 2: All online services page will be displayed, pick the ‘Apply for Learner Licence‘ option here.
Step 3: Now, the application submission stages page will show on screen, here online steps are mentioned, check it and click on the Continue button.
Step 4: In this step, choose appropriate option as per your criteria.
For learning license, select the first option ‘Applicant does not hold driving license’, and submit it.
Step 5: Now, the application form for the learner’s license will show on screen, fill in all personal and address details.
After checking all the filled information you entered, click on “Submit“.
Step 6: After that, pay the application fee online and take a receipt of the payment slip, and book LL slot for an appointment.

Check Driving License Status
1) To check driving license status online, visit sarathi parivahan sewa portal and select your state.
2) Now click on the ‘Application Status’ link option to check your license application status.
3) After this, a search form will display on-screen, here you can enter your application number and date of birth to check the current status of your driving license.
By using this sarthi parivahan sewa portal, you can do other tasks online related to your driving license like renewal, change address, get duplicate DL, update phone number etc.
