As we know, the national scholarship portal is the government of India’s dedicated online portal for Indian students. In this portal, all the Central, UGC, and State scholarship schemes are listed.
Steps for National Scholarship Portal Registration
So, let’s check it the national scholarship portal registration process step by step.
Step 1: To start registration on the NSP portal, open the official link https://scholarships.gov.in.
Before starting the registration process first, you need to check that the Institute for you apply for a scholarship, is register in the NPS portal or not.
If your Institute is not yet registered with the NSP portal, then you can not apply for the national scholarship scheme.
For that, you need to click on the ‘Search For Institute’ button option on the home page. A search Institute/School/ITI form page will be displayed.
Here you can search for NPS registered Institute/Schools/ITI via providing your State, Distt information. You can also search by Search By AISHE/DISE/ITI(NCVT) code value.
If you found a registered institute in the search result, then only you can apply for the scholarship as per the national scholarship online scheme. You can request your institute to get register under NSP portal.
Step 2: After getting the institute searched, click on the ‘New Registration’ link on the home page to start applying for the NSP scheme.
First, a guidelines page will open, all the instructions along with documents required to apply for it, clearly mentioned on it. Get ready these documents in hand.
Just go through all instructions, and agree to all the conditions below of the page, then click to continue.
Step 3: Now, the registration page will open for the academic year, Fill in all of your details here.
Must fill valid mobile number here, you will get registration ID by SMS.

For Identification purposes, you can select either the Aadhaar card number or the Bank A/C number. For bank account number, you have to upload a bank passbook copy scanned in PDF or JPEG format only.
After filling in all the information, click to register button and the National scholarship portal registration is completed, you will get a confirmation by SMS.
