Indian Government announced very prominent scheme for unorganized sector workers of country. As per this scheme, government launched a web portal with the name of “E-Sharm Portal”, to give benefits of governement schemes direct to the workers.
To take benefits, a worker should get registered himself in this portal. Then only he/she can take social security benefits under this scheme.
Governement creating a centralized database of all unorganized sector workers including construction workers, agricultural workers, platform workers, street vendors, migrant workers, domestic workers etc.
E-Shram Card Benefits
- Registered worker will get the benefit of these government schemes Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, PM Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana.
- 500 rupees per month will be given to the labour card holder.
- As per PM Suraksha Bima scheme, if worker died, then his family will get Rs. 2 lakh, isuurance amount. And Rs. 1 lakh will be given in case of partialy disabled.
- This e-sharm card will be valid across the country, so any registered worker can easily get work in other states. And if any epidemic or emergency situation occur, the government has all workers record, so they help them.
- The Modi government initiated this e-sharm scheme in august 2021, and as per report, till now approx 17 crore people got registered successfully. The highest number of registered candidates are women.

E-Shram Card Eligibility Criteria & Documents:
- Applicant age must be in between 16 to 59 year.
- Worker does not pay income tax.
- Applicant should not be a member of EPFO, ESIC.
- Aadhar Card
- Bank account details
- It is mandatory to link Aadhar card with mobile number.
E-Shram Card Self Registration Process 2022
Follow below steps to do complete your e-shram card registration.
- Visit the official website of e-sharm portal via this link: eshram.gov.in.
- On home page, click on Register on E-Sharm option. A registration form will be display on screen.
- Enter your adhaar card linked mobile number, choose EPFO and ESIC status and fill the captcha code.
- After choosing option to send OTP to the mobile number, a OTP will send to your number, Fill it in input OTP box.
- Now complete the application form with your personal information like name, address, age etc.
- After this upload necessary documents and submit the form. Your self e-shram card registration will completed successfully.
