On 23rd September 2018, Prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi launched his ambitious project Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana (PMJAY). This is deemed as the world’s largest government-funded health care program and covering more than 10 crore families, which is more than 50 crore, Indian people.
What is Ayushman bharat Yojana (PMJAY)
In the poor families of our country, due to financial constraints, they are unable to get treatment in hospitals and are unable to bear the cost of treatment.
Under this scheme government providing health insurance assistance of up to 5 lakh to the people. They could get free treatment in hospitals. Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Yojana aims to provide financial assistance to the economically weaker poor families of the country by providing health insurance.
More than 10 crore poor families will be covered under this scheme to provide health insurance. Ayushman Bharat Yojana is also known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
Under Ayushman Bharat Yojana, free treatment facilities will be provided in government/panel hospitals and private health centers.

Benefits of Ayushman Bharat Yojana
- More than 10 crore families will be covered under the scheme.
- Under Prime Minister Ayushman Yojana, up to 5 lakh health insurance is being provided to poor families.
- Those families which are listed in 2011 are also being included in PMJAY scheme.
- Under this scheme, the cost of medicine, treatment, will be provided by the government and 1350 diseases will be treated.
- You do not need to spend money to avail this plan.
- The scheme will be administered by the Ministry of Health.
- Financially weak people will not have to worry about money to get their treatment through this scheme.
Ayushman Bharat Yojana Qualify Criteria:
According to SECC data, people belonging to the categories D1, D2, D3, D4, D5, and D7 in the rural population have been included in the Ayushman Bharat Yojana (ABY).
ABY qualification for rural area
These qualifications for joining Ayushman Bharat Yojana (ABY) are broad:
- A raw house in a rural area, no adult (16-59 years) in the family, the head of the family is a woman, someone is a disabled person in the family, belongs to SC / ST and the landless person / daily wage laborer
- Apart from this, the homeless people of rural areas, destitute, donating or begging, tribal and legally free bonded etc.
ABY qualification for Urban Area
- ABY qualification for urban areas to be included in the Ayushman Bharat Scheme (ABY) are broadly: beggars, garbage pickers, domestic chores, street vendors, cobblers, hawkers, street workers Other people.
- Construction site laborers, plumbers, masons, laborers, painters, welders, security guards, porter and other loaders working sweepers, sweepers, domestic workers, handicraftsmen, tailors, drivers, Rickshaw drivers, shopkeepers etc. will be included in the Ayushman Bharat Yojana (ABY).

Check Eligibility for Ayushman Bharat Yojana
Let’s check out the process of whether you are eligible for PMJAY scheme or not.
Step 1: Visit the official PMJAY website pmjay.gov.in and click on ‘I am eligible’ button link.
Step 2: After this, a login screen will show, enter your mobile number and fill the captcha text, submit it.
You will get an OTP on your mobile number, input it and verify it. Now you can access the search family details form.
Step 3: In the search form, you can filter the family information on the basis of the state, name, father’s name, mother’s name and age etc.
If your family record did not found on this search form result then you are not eligible for Aysuhman Bharat Yojana.
If you are eligible for this scheme then your complete family details will show on screen with HHD no.
Through ‘Family Details’ button click, you can see the complete information of the family number and take a printout of the details.
You can also get this information via SMS also.
Apply for Ayushman Bharat Yojana (PMJAY)
The beneficiaries who want to apply for registration under this scheme should take care of our registration process and avail of this scheme.
To apply under Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Yojana, first go to the Jan Seva Kendra (CSC) and submit a copy of all your original documents.
After this, after verification of all the documents by the agent of the Public Service Center (CSC), registration under the scheme will be ensured and you will be given registration.
After this, after 10 to 15 days you will be provided with the Golden Card of Ayushman Bharat through Jan Seva Kendra. After this, your registration will be successful.
