TNPDS Smart Ration Card: Tamil Nadu Electronic Public Distribution System (TNPDS) launched smart ration cards for the citizens of Tamil Nadu.

The government also converted old ration card into smart ration card to control the ration system.

Tamil Nadu Smart Ration Card Types

There are four different types of smart ration cards is issued by the Tamil Nadu government under TNPDS.

White Cards: The government procures 3 kg of sugar over the fixed quota.

Light Green Cards: This card is issued for rice and other commodities at Fair Price Shops and also covers the Antodaya Anna Yojana, for cardholders.

No Commodity Card: These cardholders did not able to get any kind of commodities from the ration shops.

Khaki Cards: These cards are only for the police staff up to the rank of inspectors.

Step 1: Step 1: First open TBPDS department official web portal and click on ‘Smart Card Application’ link.

Step 2: After this ‘Apply for electronic card’ application form page will be displayed.

Step 3: Enter all required information in this form like basic details, add family member, gas connection, etc., and upload the asked documents scan copy.

Step 4: After this, click on Submit button, a reference number will be generated after successful submission.

TNPDS Smart card Offline Application Process

If you are not able to apply for the smart card via online mode then apply for it by visiting the nearest ration shop.

Visit your respective authorized ration distributor shop and collect the application form.

Fill the application form and attached the required documents photocopy them with it and submit it the concerned department.

As a receipt, a reference number will be provided, keep it for further use like check TNPDS smart card status online.
